Terms of Service
Welcome to PDFreamly ("PDFreamly," "we," "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of pdfreamly.com and the PDF processing services we provide (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
PDFreamly provides browser-based tools for working with PDF files, including merging, splitting, compressing, extracting text, and converting PDF files to Word documents. We may add, change, or remove tools at any time.
2. Accounts
You can use certain tools without an account. To download a processed file, you must sign in using a one-time email link ("magic link"). You are responsible for keeping access to the email address associated with your account secure, and for all activity that occurs through your account.
3. Free tier and paid plans
Free tier: up to 3 actions per day, at no cost, subject to the file-size and other limits described on our pricing page.
Pro subscription: unlimited actions for the subscription period, billed monthly or annually, at the price shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Pro subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
Credit packs: one-time purchases of credits that can be used once your free daily actions are used up. Simple actions (merge, split, compress, extract) cost 1 credit; conversions (e.g. PDF to Word) cost 2 credits. Credits are deducted when you download a result, not when processing starts. Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase and are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.
Prices are shown in EUR. No VAT is currently added or itemized separately at checkout; the amount shown is the amount charged.
4. Payment and cancellation
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. Pro subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through the account billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then. We do not offer partial refunds for unused time in a billing period.
5. Your right to withdraw from a digital purchase
Under EU consumer law, you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase. Because PDFreamly provides digital content/services that begin performing immediately (your file is processed as soon as you use a tool, and credits or Pro access are available for use right away), by completing a purchase and checking the consent box at checkout, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once performance has begun, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
6. Your files
Files you upload are yours. We process them solely to provide the Service and do not claim any ownership over your content. Uploaded files, the files we generate from them, and any text we extract are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems within 1 hour of upload/processing, whether or not you download the result. We do not use your files to train any models.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to process content that is illegal, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have the right to process. You agree not to attempt to abuse, overload, scrape, or circumvent the Service's usage limits or security.
8. No warranty; availability
The Service is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result (for example, a converted file) will be perfectly accurate — you should review outputs before relying on them. We may suspend or limit the Service for maintenance or other operational reasons.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFreamly is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify active users (e.g. by email or a notice on the site) before the changes take effect.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Hungarian courts.
If you are a consumer resident in the EU, nothing in this clause deprives you of the protection of any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your own country of residence, and you may in any event be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country under EU rules on consumer jurisdiction.
